Atma connect (atma) is a tech non-profit dedicated to peer-to-peer communication in poor communities. atmago was launched as a neighborhood-level social network app in indonesia in 2015, and in thousands of posts and replies users are sharing real-time information, advice and solutions with their neighbors to better prepare for disasters, improve their access to basic needs, and address chronic vulnerabilities. atmago has reached over 40,000 users in 3 cities, jakarta, malang, and lamongan, over 160,000 page views, and achieved 64% monthly average user growth over the last few months. over 60,000 peer to peer information exchanges have been made on issues of water, food, jobs, education, shelter, flooding, crime, and fires. during the flooding in jakarta last year, people were using atmago to help each other prepare for floods, help find safe routes through flooded streets, and after the floods warned each other to watch out for signs of water borne disease in children. atma recently won the global ideo amplify award for its work in building resilience in urban poor communities. in 2016, atma is developing its android app, integrating atmago with emergency warning systems in indonesia, and launching in new regions. to read atma's recent report: https://atmamobile.files.wordpress.com/2016/02/atma-connect-2016-report1.pdf
