I'm an australian indigenous art and craft lover living in india. my love of australian indigenous art and my travels around india have inspired me to take indian folk art and craft to a global audience, and so i have founded indigenous indian. recent research has confirmed the link between the people of india (particularly southern india) and australia's aboriginal people, with some aborigines being able to trace as much as 11% of their dna to india. this news was unsurprising to me, as i looked out my window at the street dogs, which very much reminded me of australian dingoes. and the striking similarities between some indian and aboriginal art adds credence to the theory that the two continents were linked all those millenia ago. one of the surprising aspects of indian tribal and folk art is the anonymity of the artists. very few works are signed and there is often little indication of who created each piece. i am working directly with local indigenous artists and craftspeople to ensure the quality of the work and to confirm the working conditions. ten percent of the profits of our sales are donated to indian charities that directly benefit the communities that provide our products.
