For the last 60 years, the bachrodt family has been a large part of the growth of our fine community. the family is very active today in all facets of business as well as civic support. the lou bachrodt ii opened their first chevrolet dealership in rockford in december 1953 on church street in downtown rockford. n 1962, bachrodt built the largest chevy dealership in the us on christina street which today is the rockford school bus depot. in 1980 we built the beautiful facility across from cherryvale mall, and have added several franchises to the chevrolet car and truck line: buick, gmc, bmw, and volkswagen. the bachrodt family also has the used car and truck supercenter, bachrodt on state street, on east state street, across from st. anthony's hospital. also located at the state street location is jd byrider of rockford, a used car dealership specializing in selling and financing quality used vehicles with a warranty to customers with credit difficulties. the lou bachrodt family of dealerships employ approximately 150 area residents. many team members have been employed for decades. we are proud not only of our customer service but of our relationship with our many valued team members. come for the value, stay for the experience.
