Swasth baalak india was founded to help address public health in india through utilizing novel and innovative ways to engage the populace with the numerous issues that constitute “public health”. our primary means of community engagement has and will continue to be education at the middle school (6th -8th) level. the reason for this is that we believe that while educating adults has certain short term benefits, they are not nearly as impressionable as adolescents. because the children are the future of india, and because it is at the middle school level that they begin to become exposed to drugs, cigarettes etc. we focus most of our efforts on this age-group. what we do: our operations are multifaceted in nature, but the theme of influencing public health through education of early-teen children remains a motif within our organization. currently, we are involved in three broad activities: activity distribution, educational workshops and mental health research. thus far, we have worked with thousands of students across india and our goal is to reach 50,000 students in the next 50 months!
