Tennis4india is solely dedicated to bring together the indian tennis fraternity - indian players, coaches, trainers and the tennis loving public of india under one platform. india is an evolving tennis playing nation which i believe is at the cusp of greater glory. from the open era, we had international players of repute like vijay amritraj and ramesh krishnan who showed us that they were world beaters. then came the likes of leander paes, sania mirza, mahesh bhupathi, somdev devvarman and rohan bopanna who have showed us that they can take on the world. interestingly enough for a country who have been of late known more for its doubles prowess, the current crop of players like yuki bhambri, ramkumar ramanathan, prajnesh gunneswaran etc have shown us that they are world beaters in singles too. also our women players like ankita raina and karman kaur thandi have shown us that they are getting stronger every passing day. also we have a few good junior players who are ready for the next level. however for a cricket crazy nation like india, a more globally reognized sport like tennis does not get the support that it deserves. also in an individual sport like tennis, any junior who wants to make it to the professional circuit needs at least inr 20 lacs per year (without taking the expense of a travelling coach) to pick up those valuable points in the circuit to stay alive in the circuit. thus it is imperative that corporations in india come forward and help these players to make it big in the sports. thus one endeavor is to attract eyeballs from these corporations for this need of the hour of sponsorship. however, it is also to be noted that for sponsors to come on board, there has to be collaboration from all the stake holders in indian tennis to come up with a more robust foundation. this platform is attempting to bring together all the like minded stakeholders of indian tennis and make india a global powerhouse in tennis.
